Actually, that was my second times visit Lembah UGM food court with
my friends. We wanted to have our lunch there and tried some foods. However it
was rather difficult to decide what food which I want to eat while my stomach
was starving. I thought, “I want eat all food here and make my stomach happy”,
but I have no enough budgets to order all foods there. So that I just went to a
food stall and followed by my friends ordered Bakwan Kawi.
Three bowls of Bakwan Kawi, two glasses of ice tea and one glass of
orange jus were being our lunch in Lembah UGM food court, and it relieved me,
satisfied me from my starving that day, thanks God. Then we ate it while
enjoying the scenery of Lembah UGM. So peaceful and cool although the weather
was so hot. There are so many trees and also a tennis field beside Fitness
center UGM in Lembah UGM area. We spent a lot of times there, eating, chatting,
joking, and enjoying the scenery, a lovely time with lovely friends and food.
Commonly, Bakwan kawi is one of food from Malang. It seems like
meatball with pangsit on it. However those are different, there is also one or
two meatballs on a bowl of Bakwan Kawi, but the dominant thing are the Bakwan
itself. There are two kinds of Bakwan Kawi, the fried Bakwan Kawi and the steam
Bakwan Kawi. The fried one is very crispy and tasty outside, but softly inside.
I even heard “kreesss.. kresss.. “ when I eat it. In the other hand, the steam
Bakwan Kawi is soft outside and inside, and its taste feels better when you eat
it with the gravy. If you like spicy food, you can add some sauce or sambal on
your Bakwan Kawi and it will make the hot, crispy and tasty Bakwan Kawi on a
bowl.. Yummmmyy.. !!
